Festival at Sandpoint: Week TwoFestival at Sandpoint
The Festival at Sandpoint continues this week, Wednesday, July 30 to Sunday, August 3 with a packed lineup at War Memorial Field, 801 Ontario St., starting Wednesday, July 30 with Community Night featuring Jojo Dodge, Brittany's House, Harold's IGA, and The Real McCoy for just $15. Then, on Thursday, July 31, country rock duo Brothers Osborne takes the stage with The Kruse Brothers opening. Next up, Friday, August 1 brings classic rock legends Kansas with Spokane's Vika & the Velvets opening. Saturday, August 2 delivers a genre-spanning evening with Dispatch, John Butler, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Donavon Frankenreiter. The festival wraps up Sunday, August 3 with the annual Grand Finale featuring the Festival Orchestra performing "Sounds of Summer" conducted by Morihiko Nakahara, plus the optional Cheers tasting event from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. before the concert begins. This PRCA/WPRA-sanctioned event brings top-tier rodeo athletes to Sandpoint for two unforgettable evenings of high-energy entertainment. From jaw-dropping bull riding and roping to lightning-fast WPRA barrel racing, this family-friendly rodeo is packed with adrenaline and action. Hosted by a dedicated local team with a passion for the sport, the Sandpoint Rodeo promises professional performances and a great community atmosphere. 30th Annual Long Bridge SwimLong Bridge Swim
Join hundreds of swimmers in Sandpoint, Idaho on Saturday, August 2, for the 30th annual Long Bridge Swim, a 1.76-mile open-water swim across the breathtaking waters of Lake Pend Oreille. This signature summer event invites swimmers of all levels to cross alongside the iconic Long Bridge, where spectators can follow the action from above. Early packet pickup will be held Friday, August 1 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Sandpoint High School, with race day check-in from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. at the same location. All swimmers must attend a mandatory safety meeting at 8:00 a.m. before boarding shuttles to the starting point, with the swim expected to begin around 9:00 a.m. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or first-time participant, this special 30th anniversary swim promises to be a memorable experience. Though rooted in key narratives about the people and events that have shaped Sandpoint over the past 150 years, each docent adds their own favorite anecdotes to the tour, meaning no two are exactly alike! 1-2 Bonner County Rodeo The annual PRCA/WPRA rodeo is held in the Bonner County Fairgrounds, 4203 N. Boyer Rd. In conjunction with the PRCA event, there will also be women's barrel racing sanctioned by WPRA (Women's Professional Rodeo Association). BonnerCountyFair.com/events.

2 Long Bridge Swim. Held every year on the first Saturday in August, the Long Bridge Swim attracts a wide range of swimmers - including children as young as 7 and a number of swimmers in their 80s! LongBridgeSwim.org.

2 Clark Fork Pedal & Farm Tour. Join for year 2 of this sustainable bike tour. Approximately 30 miles of fun. This years event will take place between Thompson Falls and Trout Creek, while visiting farms in the forests along the banks of the river in Western Montanta. The tour will end back at Little Beaver Creek Ranch, where a locally grown and sourced meal awaits, along with local music. Bike tour registration opens soon. 3 Festival at Sandpoint: Grand Finale. Join for the annual Grand Finale featuring the Festival at Sandpoint Orchestra conducted by Morihiko Nakahara. The theme of the 2025 performance is "Sounds of Summer." Programming will evoke the warmth, energy, and emotions of summer in a unique way. The orchestra will take the stage at War Memorial Field, 801 Ontario St. This is a seated show with gates opening at 5 p.m., and music beginning at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $39.95 (+taxes/fees) and youth tickets are $9.95 (+taxes/fees). Prices will go up on the day of the performance. From 5-7 p.m., before the performance begins, guests can select to add on a ticket (starting at $12.95) to the Cheers: Wine Beer, & Spirit Tasting event where guests will sample pours from across the region. 3 Sandpoint Swing Dance. Join from 6-9 p.m. at the Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., and the evening begins with a one-hour swing dance basics lesson starting at 6:00 p.m. General dancing will follow from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event welcomes couples, singles, and dancers of all experience levels. 8-9 Summer Theater Camp Performance: The Three Musketeers. Presented by Summer Theater Camp, Panida, LPORT, and POAC. Under the guidance of LPORT Educator Liz Iha, students ages 8-17 spent three weeks at the historic Panida Theater diving into the magic of Theatre Arts, learning auditioning, blocking, line memorization, sets, props, costumes, and so much more. Now, all their hard work comes to life on stage! Join in celebrating these talented young performers as they present The Three Musketeers on stage at the Panida, 300 N. 8-10 Sandpoint on Stage Presents: Criminals. Written and directed by Teresa Pesce. In the sparse setting of a government interrogation room, three criminal suspects are interviewed. The professional interrogators must close the gap between suspicion of guilt and certainty of guilt by getting an admission of the crime. Sometimes it's tense and tricky, sometimes it's very funny, but always "Criminal" is an evening you'll enjoy! Recommended for audiences over 15. Don't miss it at the Panida Little Theater, 302 N. 9 Christmas in August Poker Run. It's a Toys for Tots charity ride happening here in Sandpoint at The Sandpoint Lions Club, 609 S. Ella St. All rides and rods are welcome to participate in this event. Start at the Lions Club at 9 a.m. and Kick Stands up at 10:30 a.m. After the ride, stick around for a live and silent auction, 50/50 raffle, a refreshing beer garden, and a $15 BBQ dinner. In deep space, the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. An organism from inside an egg leaps out and attaches itself to one of the crew, causing him to fall into a coma. 16 19th Annual Wings Over Sandpoint Fly-in. Regional pilots fly into Sandpoint Airport to provide a display of aircraft ranging from general aviation to antique, float plane, and experimental craft. The day kicks off with a big country breakfast from 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m.; breakfast tickets are $8 kids, $12 adults and funds benefit the Sandpoint EAA Chapter 1441 Flight Scholarship Program for high school students. 8-13 WaCanId Ride. Annual Rotarian supported bicycle tour takes cyclists on paved roads encircling the Selkirk Mountains of Washington, Canada and Idaho - hence the name WaCanId.
