BGH Parade of Trees & Annual Tree of Memorial Lights Bonner General Hospital & Bonner General Health Hospice host two community holiday traditions this week. Monday thru Thursday, Dec. 1-4: The BGH Parade of Trees invites the public to view and bid on three-foot decorated Christmas trees in one of the hospital's classrooms, with crafts and baked goods available throughout the week. Now in its 23rd year, the display runs daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 520 N. Third Ave., with bidding closing Dec. 4 at 4:00 p.m. On Thursday, Dec. 4: The Annual Tree of Memorial Lights offers a heartfelt ceremony to honor and remember loved ones at 423 N. POAC Performing Art Series: The Nutcracker with Ballet Victoria POAC is thrilled to bring back the timeless holiday classic that unites us all in the festive season. KRFY's Holiday Spectacular Panhandle Community Radio KRFY 88.5 FM brings its holiday variety show, "The KRFY Holiday Spectacular," to the Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., on Friday, Dec. 5, inviting the community to watch and participate in a live, old-fashioned radio-style broadcast. Now in its third year. The show blends music, comedy, drama and storytelling with performances by Brendan Kelty and Andy Ohlrich, Truck Mills and Carl Rey, Sadie Sicilia, Kjetil Lund, the Sandpoint High School Choir and special guest vocalist Meg Turner, all backed by a house band. Local writers Emily Erickson and Zach Hagadone will share seasonal stories, while actors from the Lake Pend Oreille Repertory Theater Company and Sandpoint's "Festivus" program present a humorous radio piece. Hosted by Jack Peterson, the evening offers a lively snapshot of holiday spirit and community creativity. Craft Fairs & Holiday Markets Get into the holiday spirit with a weekend full of festive craft fairs and markets across Sandpoint and Sagle. From Friday through Sunday, Dec. 5-7, the Sandpoint Lions and Girl Scouts host a Christmas Craft Fair at the Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave., open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. On Saturday, Dec. 6, Sagle will hold its own Christmas Craft Fair at 31 Ivy Drive from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., featuring local vendors, hand-crafted items, Santa photos, and free activity kits for visitors. That same day, St. Joseph's Christmas Craft Fair takes place at the Sandpoint VFW Hall, 1324 Pine St., from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with crafty gifts and a homemade lunch of soup and rolls served from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Also on Saturday, don't miss the Holiday Market at First Lutheran Church on the corner of Olive & Ontario from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., hosted by the Sandpoint Teen Center in partnership with the Cottage Market, showcasing local merchants, artists, crafts, baked goods, and handcrafted candy.
Festival of Trees Starlit Soiree Gala & Live Auction Step into the sparkle of the season at Sandpoint's most magical holiday tradition, the Festival of Trees! This year's Starlit Soiree invites you to celebrate under the glow of beautifully decorated trees, enjoy joyful performances, and connect with the community. The festival brings together more than 3,000 people over multiple days in support of local families, culminating in the glamorous Festival of Trees Starlit Soiree Gala & Live Auction at the Hive, 207 N. Czech Christmas Mass Experience the warmth and charm of Czech holiday tradition with J.J. Ryba's Czech Christmas Mass, a beloved Czech holiday classic that blends sacred themes with folk melodies and rhythms. First performed in 1796, this pastoral masterpiece tells the Nativity story through the eyes of humble Bohemian shepherds and features a flexible choir, four soloists, and organ. Conducted by Jan Pellant and presented by the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint in collaboration with NIPH and Bel Canto, the performance captures the true spirit of Christmas for performers and audiences alike.
