In this thought-provoking film, linguistics professor Louise Banks (played by Amy Adams) is recruited to lead an elite team of investigators after mysterious spacecraft appear in twelve locations across the globe. As world tensions rise and the threat of conflict looms, Banks races against time to unlock the aliens' language and uncover their purpose on Earth. Her search for understanding could alter the future of humanity, but it comes with unimaginable risks. The screening begins at 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are just $5 and available now at Panida.org.
Falling - An Evening with Viggo Mortensen The Panida hosts a special evening with acclaimed actor and filmmaker Viggo Mortensen. Be ready for a unique fundraising event in support of the theater and KRFY Community Radio. The film explores the tensions that surface between generations, as Willis' stubborn and abrasive personality, by turns caustic and unexpectedly funny, forces both father and son to confront long-standing conflicts and unspoken emotions. With a runtime of two and a half hours, the evening will not end with the closing credits, as audiences are invited to stay for a rare and intimate Q & A session with Mortensen following the screening. Doors will open one hour before showtime, seating is general admission, and tickets are available online at panida.org as well as at the door.
