10 Monday Raspberry Pi Club. Join from 3:30-5 p.m. in the new Exploration Lab at the Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St. You will explore Python programming through hands-on projects. 11 Make Your Own Valentine. Take part from 3-4 p.m. in Karen's Kids Room at the Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St. where you can make unique valentines to give to your friends, family, or use for a random act of kindness. There will be supplies and volunteers available to help assemble your creations.

11 Teen: Pretzel Bites. From 3-4:30 in the lab, learn how to make pretzel bites and then decorate them with sweet or salty toppings. Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St.

11 Mini Figurine Painting. Join from 5-7 p.m. at the Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St. in the Teen Lounge. Paint mini figurines in a group setting & learn tips from others. 2nd Tuesday. Open to teens and adults.

11 Blacksmith Club. Join from 6-8 p.m. at the Sled Barn at The Sled Hill at Pine Street Woods, 11735 W. Pine. Nick Belfy hosts this Kaniksu Folk School program to connect people interested in blacksmithing and to share knowledge and skills. Geared for adults, kids 13-17 may join with an adult. 11 Registration Deadline: Beginning Drawing and Beginning Watercolor with Barry Burgess. This class will explore the foundations of the craft of drawing and will apply the basic skills of watercolor to better inform student's personal vision. In 1-1/2 hour classes, you will investigate the basic elements of drawing and explore water color techniques toward accomplishing your personal artistic appreciation. 13 Identifying ID's Trees. Held from 9 a.m. to noon at the University of Idaho Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center, 10881 N. Boyer Rd. Pre-register by Friday, Feb. 7 as there are limited spaces. 13 Let's Talk About It. 5:30 p.m. in the Community Rooms of the Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St. The "Through Indigenous Story: An Invitation to Understanding" theme focuses on literature by Indigenous authors. Join in reading book selections and attending one or all scholar-led discussions in our LTAI series. February is "An American Sunrise" by Jay Harjo.

14 Friday Mother Goose Storytime. Take part from 10:30-11 a.m. in Karen's Kids Room at the Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St. It's a rhythm-filled lap-sit storytime held on Friday mornings, geared for children up to 30-months.

14 Registration Deadline: Landscaping for Fire Prevention. Forest fires are a fact of life in the Inland Northwest. Homes located on forested lands (the "wildland interface") can be at high risk from forest fires. Rural homeowners can lessen that risk if they modify their houses and landscapes to make them less likely to ignite and easier for firefighters to access. Join a 3-hour workshop from 9 a.m. to noon at the University of Idaho Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center, 10881 N. Boyer Rd. Pre-registration should be done by Friday, February 14. 14-15 Hunter & Bowhunter certification. This is a combination hunter (firearm) and bowhunter classroom course for students ages 9+. Students must attend all class sessions and pass a multiple choice exam in order to receive their hunter & bowhunter certifications. Live fire is not a requirement in order to receive a hunter ed certificate, and this class will not have a live fire session. 15 Reg. Deadline: Glass Windchimes with Julie Ellis. In this class, students will be working with recycled products that include hand cut, kiln fused glass, gemstones, crystal beads and wood.   They will learn how to connect the various materials in artistic and exciting ways.  Participants will create and their own individual expression of glass art chimes in this one-session class. 18 Master Naturalists on KRFY. Leaders of the Pend Oreille Chapter of the Idaho Master Naturalists will be talking with host Julie Kallemeyn on KRFY about the program to develop a dedicated group of well-informed conservation-oriented volunteers to actively work toward stewardship of Idaho’s natural environment.  Education and volunteer opportunities will be presented. 18 Fun for Canvas Weaving with Jan Rust Registration Deadline. This class is designed to give students a chance to create a festive weaving on a stretched canvas.  During this 3-hour class, students will use holiday colors to create a small-but-mighty work of art that they can add to holiday décor or give as a special handmade gift. Local expert, Laura Clemmons leads a fascinating class in making DIY herbal tinctures for health and wellness. 22 Kimekomi with Jenni Barry Registration Deadline. Kimekomi is a Japanese art form where fabric pieces are tucked into a base.  In this class students will be creating 2-D Kimekomi art that combines the painterly quality of impressionism, with complex quilting. 26 Abstract Painting with Alison Barrows-Young Registration Deadline. A painting is abstract if it doesn't attempt to accurately depict the real world, but instead uses shapes, colors, forms, gesture and texture. 26 Pastel Landscapes with T Kirtz Registration Deadline. Winters here can be long but they are also beautiful. With this class, the instructor will work with students to capture icy rivers surrounded by snow. From The Little Sandcreek, which runs alongside the Schweitzer MT Road, to Westmond Creek and the surrounding areas, the class will discuss softening the complex background to rendering the waters movement. 27 CPR/AED With optional First Aid. For adults 6+ or ages 12-15 with an adult guardian. This is a general community course for persons with little or no medical training who need CPR/AED and/or First Aid card for work, OSHA requirements, school, or personal knowledge. 4-6 p.m. for CPR/AED and 6-8 p.m. for First Aid. 27 Jewelry with Mary Gayle Young Registration Deadline. In this class students will learn a fundamental wire wrap technique to make a pair of dangle earrings, a pendant and a zipper pull.  You will explore design, color, and balance with a wide assortment of beads and semi-precious gemstones. 21 Pend Oreille Chapter of Idaho Master Naturalists Opening Class. 1-5 p.m. at the Waterlife Discovery Center, 1591 Lakeshore Dr. This will be the introductory class for new Master Naturalists - people who want to help be good stewards of nature by volunteering for a variety of nature-related conservation events.  Interested persons should send an email to [email protected] for more information. There will be many exciting classes this year in a wide variety of topics related to the outdoors.  Many educational classes will be online, plus in-person classes and field trips.

22 Spring READY! For Kindergarten Parent Workshops: Social & Emotional Development. Join at Farmin/Stidwell Elementary, 1626 Spruce St. for this free parent early education workshop for parents and grandparents of kids from age 0-5.
