Sandpoint Bike RodeoSandpoint Bike Rodeo
Get over to Parkside Church, 423 N. Lincoln as fast as you can, as it will be the location of this year's Bike Rodeo. From 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, you can show up and bring your bike or scooter, and helmet with you. (There will be some available for kids who do not have one - while supplies last). There will be a bike safety check with minor repairs offered. Learn about bike safety and practice your skills. Also, check out the new bike skills park at Travers Park. The city of Sandpoint, LPOSD Safe Routes to School, and Pend Oreille Pedalers are sponsoring this event. Kendal Mountain Film Tour 2024Kendal Mountain Tour 2024
Kendal Mountain Tour is Britain's biggest adventure film festival, and it's coming to our little town! This is the second year the film tour has made its way overseas and into the Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., with a collection of seven mountain, cultural, and adventure films for 2024. The show will be held on Friday, May 3 starting at 7:00 p.m. Doors will be opening 1 hour before the show. Get tickets at Panida.org. The 2024 films will be: Bring the Salmon Home; Like Mother Like Daughter; Flow; Soundscape; I Am Because You Are; The White Giant; and Going Home. Farmers' Market Opening DaySandpoint Farmers' Market Opening Day
The Sandpoint Farmers' Market has proudly connected local farmers, fine artists, craftspeople, and food vendors with the North Idaho community for 35 years! Come down on opening day, Saturday, May 4, and shop for fresh produce and artisan goods from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The market is held on Saturdays from  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. through October 12th in downtown Sandpoint's Farmin Park. The Farmers' Market will happen rain or shine. You are asked to please leave your furry friends at home, as there are no dogs allowed in the Farmin Park. 3/4 Minus Cykeltur3/4 Minus Cykeltur 
The 3/4 Minus Cykeltur is a gravel grand fondo consisting of a 52-mile route on asphalt and gravel roads and a 75-mile route on asphalt, gravel, and some dirt singletrack trail. The event will start and finish on Oak Street between Syringa Cyclery and Matchwood Brewing Company, and is followed by a party and award ceremony at Matchwood Brewing with food, drink, and live music. It will take place annually on the first Saturday in May. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Pend Oreille Pedalers (POP), Sandpoint's local bike club and trail building organization. POP is the primary cycling advocate and trail building organization in the area. This event will take place on Saturday, May 4 starting at 10:00 a.m. You can register here for either the One Humper at 52 miles, or the Two Humper at 75 miles.

Cinco de Mayo Block Party5 Leadership Sandpoint Cinco de Mayo Block Party
It's a block party in downtown Sandpoint! Help support the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Join for live music, a raffle, an auction, and activities for the whole family. Local food and drink vendors will show off their best Cinco de Mayo offerings. Event will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the block of 113 Main St. on Sunday, May 5. There is no entry fee, but there will be tickets for food and drinks available to purchase. 1-5: 2004 K&K Spring Fishing Derby. Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club holds the 76th annual spring fishing derby on Lake Pend d'Oreille. There are many prizes to be won, and multiple categories and divisions. For more information see the LPOIC Facebook page, or visit LPOIC.org.

2 Toast to Pride. An evening of hors d'oeuvres, drinks, speakers, and music provides by vendors and guests. 3-4 Spring into Dover. Just in time for Mothers Day! Local crafters and vendors come together in a beautiful location so that you can shop for that unique gift. Come check out some local craftsman or try out the new flavors of Nutlicious hazelnut spreads from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Event will be held at Nutlicious, 25820 Hwy. 2, Dover.

3-5 May Women's Retreat: Crescent Moon Bear, a story of transformation and healing. Be a part of the women's retreat at the Scotia House from the evening of May 3 thru late afternoon on May 5. The weekend will include storytelling, authentic movement, expressive arts, dreamwork, and community. Cost is $129-$189 (sliding scale) plus $70 for two nights lodging. $100 for a private room. 4 Spring Craft Market & Bingo Night. Please join in at the Sandpoint Church of God, 221 S. Division. The craft fair starts at 9 a.m. featuring local artisans and a variety of unique and handmade goods. 4: 3/4 Minus Cykeltur. This event is a timed gravel grinder consisting of two different routes. The 52-mile One-Humper, and the 76-mile Two-Humper. Both routes follow mixed surface secondary roads, and the Two-Humper includes a four-mile twist of single-track trail. More info.

4: $5 Movie: American Fiction. Monk is a frustrated novelist who's fed up with the establishment that profits from Black entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, he uses a pen name to write an outlandish Black book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain. 7 Health Hikes. Experience the health, happiness, and community connection of hiking in your community forest, Pine Street Woods, 11915 W. Pine St., with free monthly Health Hikes. Join on the first Tuesday of each month for some light morning cardio hiking on a nature trail minutes from downtown. A 45-minute morning nature hike with one of our partner medical professionals will include a group discussion on a current health topic. 7 Music Matters! Children Performing for Children Presents Music R U.S. This is a free event that will be held at the Panida, 300 N. First Ave. Children Performing for Children by The Music Conservatory of Sandpoint's after school program; Music Matters! Performing a compilation of selections written by American composers in various themes including folk, movie themes, and pop. Performed by students in the Music Matters! LPOSD Safe Routes to School invites local families to join students for Bike to School Day at 7 a.m. as a way to help raise awareness of the need to create safer routes for walking and biking. 10-11 Spring Plant Sale. Come enjoy the annual BCGA Spring Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Ponderay Event Center, 401 Bonner Mall Way. Once there, you'll find a parking lot full of annuals, perennials, tomatoes, veggies, berries, herbs, and some fun extras - and all of those plants were born and raised here in Idaho. 11 MCC Special Class: Intro to the Jeweler's Bench. Join this class with a 50-year veteran silversmith, Jack Burton and Janette Burton. 12 Contra Dance.
Dance your heart out to live music and meet your neighbors. Prior dancing experience is not necessary, and all ages are welcome. Beginners are encouraged to arrive on time for intro lessons at 7 p.m. Please bring non-marking shoes to dance in. There is a suggested donation of $5 and the dances will be held at Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 First Ave., from 7-10 p.m.

13 Festival at Sandpoint Youth Orchestra Spring Concert. Join the FAS Youth Orchestra for an evening of classical, pop, and seasonal favorites at their spring concert at 6 p.m. Event will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 417 N. Fourth Ave.

15 Spacepoint Summer Solstice. Euclid and The Dark Universe wit the European Space Agency's Rene Johannes Laureijs, Euclic Project Scientist. Rene is the lead ESA Scientist for Euclid and will share the amazing accomplishments, and discoveries of this groundbreaking space telescope. After the presentation, guests will enjoy a Solstice Drive in Movie, Barbeque, Drinks, and of course, the AREA 7B Observatory will be open for summer night sky stargazing. The Festival at Sandpoint's 2024 Online Auction is the only place where you will be able to find exclusive items, including sponsor entry tickets, prime blanket placements, a reserved parking spot, and exclusive wine bottle signed by our 2023 Summer Series artists, and more. The auction will open to preview and pre-register on May 8. Bidding opens Wednesday, May 15 at 9 a.m. and closes Monday, June 3 at 9 a.m. Auction proceeds are donations towards the Festival at Sandpoint. FestivalAtSandpoint.com.

1 Sand Creek Paddlers' Challenge. This is a fun and exciting event for families and serious racers alike. Join the Sandpoint Parks & Recreation Department for the Annual Sand Creek Paddlers’ Challenge. This event is all about FUN (and some healthy competition if you want) There are three separate divisions, two race divisions, solo & tandem, recreation and a SUP division.  There are trophies for 1st place in each division. All other prized are awarded by random drawing. This is a 4 mile paddle (round trip) up and back on Sand Creek. This event has grown each year and is quickly becoming a don’t-miss event. Check in and late registration will take place at the City Beach Pavilion from 9-9:30 a.m., the race will start at 10 a.m. $25/boat.
