Come join at Pine Street Park on Friday, August 30 for a viewing of "The Sandlot". All are welcome. The date is subject to weather related changes, and any updates will be posted here. Fall FestFall Fest
It's the most anticipated beer festival in the region, and it's returning to Schweitzer. Enjoy four days of beer tasting and fun at Schweitzer starting Friday, August 30 thru Monday, September 2.  Fall Fest offers the chance to try more than 80 beers, ciders, and seltzers from regional breweries over the four days. Bring your blankets as there will be live music all weekend. The beer tent will be on the tennis courts near the bottom of the Great Escape Quad so you'll never be too far from the beer. There will be a soda station where the kids can mix up their own drink concoctions and throughout the village you'll find a mix of local artisans and food trucks. It's the final weekend of summer operations at Schweitzer, so make sure to check out the chairlift rides, family activities, hiking, mountain biking, and more. Walk For Hope9th Annual Walk for Hope
In-person AND Virtual options are available this year. Participants may choose to walk together starting on Sunday, September 1 at 5:00 p.m. at Dog Beach OR choose their own path day-of.  This is a walk across the long bridge to promote suicide awareness, hope and healing for our community.  Registration forms are available at Scotchmans Coffee, Sandpoint Furniture, Carpet One and Selkirk Glass & Cabinets as well as online at walkforhopesandpoint.org.  All registered participants will receive a shirt. Free hamburgers and hot dogs are provided after the event to encourage community connections.

28 Farmers' Market at Sandpoint. Rain or shine at Farmin Park Wednesdays from 3-5:30 p.m. you can find handcrafted items, fresh foods and produce, and more. Please remember, no dogs are allowed in Farmin Park.

28 Live Piano with Annie Welle. Enjoy an evening of jazz on the grand piano at Pend d'Oreille Winery, 301 Cedar St. from 5-7 p.m.

30 Historic Walking Tours. The City of Sandpoint's Parks and Rec and Bonner County History Museum invite all to enjoy "A Walk Through History," a free walking tour of Sandpoint's historic downtown. These free tours are offered the last Friday of every month through summer. The tour group will meet at 10 a.m. in front of the Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave. Just show up at 10 to take the tour, or register here.

30 Bonner County Museum Historic Walking Tours. The City of Sandpoint's Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Division, in collaboration with the Bonner County History Museum invites you to enjoy a historic walking tour that will cover the general history of Sandpoint and Bonner County. It will feature all the stories you'll want to tell your friends and families. Tours are scheduled every Friday running from June through August of 2024. Please meet your tour group in front of Elevate, 212 N. First Ave. at 2:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for adults ($12 for locals), and $5 for youth. Free for children 6 and under. Book tickets here.

1 Wild Game Tracking, Trailing, and Scent Class. Wild animals are wily and well-equipped to elude humans in the woods at all times. Ask any hunter and they will tell you that the ability to track, trail and understand scent can make or break a hunt. The class is participatory in nature, and it is intended for students age 16 and older who possess some basic hunting knowledge and skills. Get more information, or register here. 2 Registration Opens for Kids Night Out. Your child will enjoy an evening of games, crafts, stories, a family friendly movie and pizza for dinner. Every third Friday of the month starting Nov. 15. This will take place from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Sandpoint Community Hall. Check here for more info.

An industrialist invites some experts to visit his theme park of cloned dinosaurs. After a power failure, the creatures run loose, putting everyone's lives, including his grandchildren's, in danger. 6 Kaniksu Fireside Dance. Come join on a dirt dance floor at the base of the sled hill, next to the forest every first and third Friday through the summer. Lessons are followed by open dancing. There is parking in the field before the red barn. 7-9 p.m. at 11735 W. Pine St.

9 Transform Your Troubles: Techniques to Embrace Problems & Cultivate Compassion. It's a series of talks by Sravasti Abbey Monastics that will take place on Mondays from Sept. 9th through Sept. 30 from 6:30-8 p.m. If you are feeling stuck, or overwhelmed by difficulties in your life or problems with the word, Buddhist nuns from Sravasti Abbey offer a series of talks that folks of all backgrounds can use to bring greater peace of mind. 9-14 WaCanId Ride. Annual Rotarian supported bicycle tour takes cyclists on paved roads encircling the Selkirk Mountains of Washington, Canada and Idaho - hence the name WaCanId. The six-day event covers 370 miles/595 kilometers and showcases the International Selkirk Loop's spectacular scenery. WaCanId.org.

12 Grizzly Bears of the Northern Rockies. Something fearsome and fascinating this way ambles. The Rock Creek Alliance and Save Our Cabinets, with support from Keokee media + marketing, is hosting "Grizzly Bears of the Northern Rockies" on Thursday, Sept. 12 at the Sandpoint High Auditorium. Wildlife biologists Mike Bader and Paul Sieracki will talk about the great bears' biology, conservation efforts and the hazards they face. It's free, and all are invited.
