Movie maker gets nod
Erik Daarstad brought home a national award last September for his work on Sandpoint, at the North End of the Long Bridge, a documentary film released in 2002. The American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) presented the cinematographer a Certificate of Commendation in Providence, R.I., at the groups annual meeting and awards banquet.
I was surprised, Daarstad said, explaining that Ann Ferguson, curator of the Bonner County Historical Museum, entered the film in secret. Its an especially nice award to have for everybody connected to the film, he said.
